Connectivity
From the left to the right, the module has the following ports:
- Power for 120-230 V
- Ethernet (with Power Over Ethernet)
- Nano SIM Card IP67 slot
Configuration
No configuration is needed if the module has a preconfigured SIM card to connect to INVOLI's VPN. If the end customer installs his own SIM card, the APN and security PIN need to be updated. In such cases, please look at the LTE PoE router configuration here.
Installation
Prior to installation, it is recommended to make the site visit, to identify the exact location, where it is possible to place the receiver and connectivity module and define the distance between them, to know the length of the Ethernet and power supply cables.
During installation, please follow the steps:
1) Mount the INVOLI connectivity module over a pole or mast on a rooftop using the provided support, screws, and fixations. The picture below shows the module mounting kit.
2) Usually the SIM Card is included, but if not provided by INVOLI, insert a SIM Card with an appropriate data plan (1 GB/day upload) in the SIM slot, and screw its IP67 cap.
3) Ground the device by using the provided ground cable.
4) Connect the INVOLI connectivity module to a G-1090 using an outdoor Ethernet cable. The Ethernet cable assembly kit is provided to prepare the Ethernet cable to be IP67. Otherwise, it is possible to order a separate Ethernet cable (CO00050AA), as an accessory. Firmly screw the IP67 caps on both sides of the cable.
Remove
the untwisted unnecessary Ethernet cap and dispose of it as waste. Leaving it loose, can cause cable damage after a while.
5) Connect the power cable to an outdoor power socket. Please note, that the standard electricity cable length is 2.8 m.
SIM card installation
The SIM card should be inserted into the external slot. For the correct direction, please see the picture below. You should feel a slight click when the SIM card is inserted properly inside. In the end, please screw firmly the protecting cap.
