Electronics / RF Engineer
In a global setting where drone incidents have increased exponentially, there is an urgent need to provide a solution that ensures safe integration of drones into the airspace.
INVOLI develops state-of-the-art technologies to avoid collisions between drones and aircrafts, by providing a comprehensive view of the air traffic to drone pilots around their area of operation (including planes, helicopters, parachutes, etc.).The INVOLI solution is based on the deployment of hardware over telecommunication infrastructure, the distribution of reliable air traffic data via internet and the usage of GPS drone trackers.
Since its foundation in July 2017, INVOLI has received multiple awards and wide support(notably including Swisscom startup challenge, ESA BIC, Venture kick, Venture Leaders, Venture, W.A. You will be in charge of prototyping, development and validation of electronic hardware components (PCBs ,Flex, antennas etc.) for our products.
• Contribution to the hardware architecture for new product development
• Design of PCBs using CAD software and selection of relevant components
• Design of RF components such as antennas, RF amplifiers etc.
• Test and validation of prototypes
• Manage suppliers for prototyping (layout, manufacturing, assembly)
• Support of the industrialization and production process
Previous experience of 3 to 7 years in PCB design, layout and manufacturing
• Good knowledge of general PCB design rules
• Experience with the design and integration of RF components such as antennas, connections, filters, amplifiers etc.
• Experience with the integration of embedded systems (MCU, SoC)
• Experience with the certification process of electronic components (EMC, Safety)
• Practical knowledge of CAD software relevant for PCB design
• Communication in French and/or English
• Basic knowledge of embedded software development (C, Python) is a plus
• Interest in working in the dynamic environment of a startup
• Interest in drones/aviation is a plus

Area: Management Assistant / General Operations Support
Project: You will be part of our dynamic, diverse, and passionate INVOLI team for a 3- to 12-month internship, where you will gain hands-on experience in the drone industry. You will be taking part in the team writing the subsidy applications for the Swiss Confederation, European Union or international subvention schemes, even the large application of multiparters consortiums with a few millions budget. The internship will also provide broad exposure to the startup day-to-day operations through formal meetings and informal sessions with the whole team, as well as a variety of development opportunities.
Geographical Scope: Europe (country by country), USA, some targeted international countries

Duration: minimum 3 months at 10h/week and up to 1 year. The ideal start date for the internship is between October and November 2020. This internship can be remote (entirely or in part), with flexible hours.
